Wadia Hospitals is a pioneering institute, in its centenary decade, catering to Mother and Child health. The clinical and academic excellence with all super specialty care provided under one roof is unique and one of its kind in our country. Many pioneering and path breaking clinical and research work is done here which is often under reported and sometimes goes unreported in peer reviewed literature. As clinicians, academicians, teachers and innovative thinkers there was a need to have an academic platform to showcase the academic achievements and scientific excellence at the Wadia Hospitals through a scientific journal.
With the concurrence and encouragement of our CEO, Dr. Minnie Bodhanwala, we have embarked upon this historical journey and a new academic endeavour in the form of Wadia Journal of Women and Child Health (WJWCH).
This journal aims to promote knowledge, research, education and clinical practice of Mother and Child Health, especially as relevant to our country. It also aims to promoting knowledge, research and education among paediatricians, obstetricians and allied healthcare professionals related to this field. It offers a strong platform for researchers, clinicians, students, nurses to make their valuable contributions towards the journal.
WJWCH will be a triennial, open-access, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal committed to publishing high-quality articles in the field of Mother and Child Health from Wadia Hospitals. The editorial policy will be guided by the high standards of scientific quality and integrity, professional responsibility, and ethical legacy. Currently WJWCH will be published only online, once every four months (Triennial) in English language. We will publish original articles, case series, case reports, clinical review, invited reviews, photo essays, clinical images, spotters, brief communications, notes and news and editorials.
This inaugural issue features twenty one scientific papers – 2 Original articles, 1 Case series, 5 Case reports, 1 Invited review, 1 Pictorial essay, 8 Clinical images, 3 Brief communications.
The editorial board is committed to get the journal indexed in major search engines, indices, and databases to increase the visibility and recognition in wider scientific community. To achieve this, we seek high quality original articles, clinical reviews, case reports, and communications comprehensively covering wide aspects of Women and Child health matters. Initiation is painful like giving birth to a child but once it is born, care and nutrition is needed for growth and sustenance. On behalf of the Editorial Board, we would like to thank everyone who has worked diligently behind the scenes to bring this inaugural issue to fruition. This inaugural launch would not have been possible without the contributions from authors, enthusiastic reviewers, and editorial support staff.
Thank you all for your trust and support. It is an honour to serve as the founding editors.
