It gives us an immense pleasure to announce the release of the inaugural issue of Wadia Journal of Women and Child Health (WJWCH).

This journal will give everyone an opportunity to highlight all the clinical and academic progress being done in the field of women and child health, especially at the Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital (NWMH) and Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (BJWHC) across its various superspecialities and Centres of Excellence. The journal will help benefit the women and children all across the Globe.

I am glad that despite the many challenges during the last few years due to COVID 19 our teams have stayed strong together and achieved a lot. This journal is a further testament to the hardwork and dedication of our team to Healthcare and motivates us further more in our mission of providing quality care to patients across all sections of our society and in our vision to carry forward the philanthropic legacy of the Wadia family.

Our women’s hospital established in 1926 provides affordable comprehensive healthcare for women catering to their changing needs through different stages of their lives. Our Children’s hospital established in the year 1928 is India’s first and largest Paediatric Hospital. It makes me immensely happy to share that the Hospital which was facing major challenges a decade back is today providing a wide range of over 40 Paediatric specialty services under one roof. The various departments and centres of excellence at NWMH and BJWHC are supported by a dedicated team of highly accomplished professionals who provide round the clock super specialty care for children with all kind of complications. In a short span of time both the hospitals have achieved accreditations for NABH, Nursing excellence, Pathology Lab and Ethics Committee Accreditations. The team’s dedication for quality of clinical research and high standards of academics at NWMH and BJWHC has been covered across various National and International Journals.

We take this opportunity to thank our Hon. Chairman Sir Mr. Nusli N. Wadia, our Leader Mr. Ness Wadia and all the Board Members of NWMH and BJWHC, GOM, MCGM, our donors and supporters, all staff of Wadia Hospitals and lastly but most important our patients for whom we strive day and night to make this a Home and not a Hospital and wish for everyone’s blessings and support to make this Journal a grand success.
