Dear All,
Greetings of the New Year 2025!
Happy to begin the new year with some new concepts and format of the journal. We are starting new Theme based issues at least once in the calender year. The first issue is on clinical genetics with Dr. Smita Mahale as the Guest Editor.
This issue brings forth many interesting articles. The review article on placental as an important organ ensuring maternal and fetal wellbeing and acting as a mirror to various intrauterine milieu. This article on placental histo-pathology gives an insight to this concept.
Antenatal screening for hemoglobinopathies is an important primary prevention strategies of this inherited disorder. It is interesting to understand that complete blood count and examination of peripheral smear alone may not pick up an underlying hemoglobinopathy as described by the authors.
Critical illness in children due to physical abuse needs to be kept in mind and the authors mention red flag alerts to suspect abuse in intensive care settings.
The various case reports and clinical images we hope brings in new learning perspectives with the viewership.
Knowledge is vast, but the human capacity is limited; hence, we are evolving with artificial intelligence which is helping humans to reach great heights and also helping to bring automation in the field of publishing. The online submission platform is helping authors to streamline the processes. It is making it possible to make the peer review process streamlined with timelines and reminders so that the article processing time can be reduced. The services are available free of charge as of now with a purpose of the journal for accessibility around the globe.
We thank all our authors, readers, reviewers, and editorial board members, present and past for their continuous support throughout the journey, and also our publisher for their timely support.
Happy reading!
